Flughafen Tempelhof für alle offen

"Eineinhalb Jahre nach der Schließung des Flughafens Tempelhof ist das Gelände am Samstag als Park für die Öffentlichkeit freigegeben worden. Zehntausende Menschen nahmen die 380 Hektar große Anlage in Besitz, auf der eine Vielzahl von Freizeitaktivitäten angeboten wurde.
Tempelhof wirkt anders als ein Stadtpark im herkömmlichen Sinne. Kein Baum ist zu sehen, wenn der Blick über die Wiesen und die stillgelegten Landebahnen schweift. Noch ist der Park ein Provisorium – die Bagger sollen erst 2013 kommen. [Unter anderem sollen hier] Wohnungen, Gewerbe und Forschungseinrichtungen angesiedelt werden. Gegner befürchten eine zu starke Kommerzialisierung des Geländes und damit eine Verdrängung der Anwohner."
